We know Corona, significantly set back routine work on the AT. Also, this wild weather has not been helped the condition of the path. So there is a lot of maintenance that needs to be done rather urgently on the Nantahala Hiking Club’s section of the AT and the adjacent trails. Please come out and work on Wed if you are able. If not, please consider yourself a recruiter and find a worker to join in caring for the trail. The address is 173 Carl Slagle Rd., Franklin at 8:30 am each Wednesday. It is also listed on the NHC Website. It’s a rewarding day with a bunch of great people doing important work. Newcomers are welcomed and paired with an experienced maintainer. Tools, training, and safety briefing are provided. Caring for the AT is the number one purpose of NHC. Time to step out and help.
