SHUTTLE RIDES for AT HIKERS
AT hikers coming into Franklin for re-supply, a good meal, and a soft bed should have no trouble finding a ride to and from the trail. To comply with US Forest Service Regulations, our list below includes offers of FREE shuttles from club members and fee-for-services businesses permitted by the USFS.

- Club members offer no-charge rides with AT LEAST 6 to 8 hours notice.
- When calling for a ride, let your driver know how many hikers are in your group.
- Dogs may not be allowed by some shuttle drivers.
MACON COUNTY TRANSIT
Macon County Transit provides shuttles from the downtown Gazebo to and from Winding Stair Gap and Deep Gap three times a day, Monday through Friday only. Call 828-349-2222 (M-F) for possible shuttles to other local destinations.
Fee-for-service shuttle drivers are invited to include contact information here provided you can show proof of a valid U.S. Forest Service permit. Send your company name, contact email/phone, distance you will travel, fee schedule, and a copy of your valid permit to: [email protected].
